Jennifer previously served as editor of the CBA Trust and Estate Section’s quarterly newsletter, Council Notes, (2001 to 2006).  She also served as chair and co-chair of the Statutory Revisions Committee of the Trust and Estate Section (2002 to 2004), and is a member of the Section’s Publications Committee. 

She has spoken on the topic of multi-jurisdictional estate planning for various bar associations and authored articles on that same topic for the July 2001 and September 2008 issues of The Colorado Lawyer.  She has also given presentations for the Colorado Bar Association and Boulder County Bar Association on the topic of planning after death in light of the 2001 federal tax act (EGTRRA).

JENNIFER M. SPITZ

Jennifer M. Spitz received her Bachelor’s Degree from Fort Lewis College summa cum laude in 1994 and her Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado School of Law in 1998, Order of the Coif.  Prior to joining Stover & Spitz LLC, she had been an Associate at Flanders Stover Elsberg LLP since 1998.  Jennifer primarily practices in the areas of estate planning, probate and trust administration, including related estate and gift tax planning and return preparation, and charitable planning.

Jennifer is listed in The Best Lawyers In America.  She is a member of the Boulder County Estate Planning Council, the Boulder County Bar Association and the Colorado Bar Association (CBA).  She has served as a Council Member of the Trust and Estate Section of the CBA (2006 to 2008) and as co-chair of the Taxation, Estate Planning and Probate Section of the Boulder County Bar Association (2006 to 2008).
