Jennifer M. Spitz

Jennifer M. Spitz is the co-manager of Stover & Spitz LLC in Longmont, Colorado.

Jennifer Spitz received her Bachelor’s Degree from Fort Lewis College summa cum laude in 1994 and her Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado School of Law in 1998, Order of the Coif. Jennifer has practiced law in Longmont since 1998, primarily in the areas of estate planning, probate and trust administration, including related estate and gift tax planning and return preparation, and charitable planning.

Jennifer is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America. She is also a member of the Boulder County Estate Planning Council, the Boulder County Bar Association and the Colorado Bar Association (CBA).

Jennifer currently holds the position of Chair of the Trust and Estate Section of the CBA. She has served several other positions for the Section, including Vice-Chair (2010-2011), Secretary and Treasurer (2009-2010), Council Member (2006-2008), chair and co-chair of the Statutory Revisions Committee (2002-2004) and editor of the CBA Trust and Estate Section’s quarterly newsletter, Council Notes (2001-2006). Jennifer also served as co-chair of the Taxation, Estate Planning and Probate Section of the Boulder County Bar Association (2006-2008).

She has spoken to various bar associations and other professional organizations on the topics of multi-jurisdictional estate planning, state estate tax, and planning in light of the uncertain future of the estate tax. Jennifer is married to a firefighter and Colorado native, and enjoys spending time with their two young children.
